Father’s Day, weddings, vacations…just time to relax, and then soon, THE GREELEY STAMPEDE, 4th of July and lots of camping and hiking. An Open Book LLC always has a large inventory of books to comfort, inspire, and energize every reader! Our Colorado books are wonderful…a favorite already is a book called Colorado’s Sanctuaries, Retreats, and Sacred Places.

We have a beautiful book called Fish, 77 Great Fish of North America. The breathtakingly life-like fish paintings are incredible, and the author gives you a treasure…part field guide and part angler’s soul! Oh, and don’t miss a new book entitled The Dangerous Book for Boys…oh, the title is so deceiving!! This is a guide for males of any age as it provides instructions for engaging in a wide range of classic boyhood projects and activities, from building go-carts and constructing tree houses to identifying insects and flying the most effective airplanes! Wow!!

We pride ourselves in that there are always copies of the New York Times bestsellers…fiction and non-fiction, hardcover and paperback in the store.

Children and Young Adult series come in a very wide variety…and we have them! New books in science fiction and fantasy are coming this month.

Stop by and see the packet of summer reading titles, compiled by our District Six librarians, and put your student’s name on our Summer Reading Poster. This packet of titles and authors are for kindergarten through high school. As soon as a child reads a book and a parent/guardian writes us a “yes he/she did read this book” note…smile…we will put a STAR next to his/her name. Everyone that participates will receive a gift certificate from An Open Book LLC at the end of summer, with a special certificate to the boy’/girl who reads the most books…from the packet…in each grade. These books can be bought from our store…borrowed from the library…or found on a bookshelf at home. But the titles need to be from this wonderful packet. Many thanks to so many librarians who helped with this project, under the leadership of Kifi Kanagy (Christa McAuliffe.)

Oh, have you seen all of our wings, wands and flying fairies in the back of our store….next to the fairy books? Thanks to Corinne Gansar,
from Niwot, we have a wonderful party planned! Tea, finger sandwiches, dessert, party favors and a visit from a “real” fairy will all take place at An Open Book LLC on July 14. The cost will be $10 each; and we are asking that children are accompanied by an adult…as that will also make it even more fun! (ages 4 to…??? Smile)

Former UNC women athletes will participate in their annual Trailblazer Reunion. These leaders have a full schedule of activities on this Friday…culminating with a book signing by one of their own!
